Children’s Ministry (KidZ)

The desire of the KidZ ministry is to show and teach children the greatness and worth of God in creative and exciting ways. Partnering with parents to help love Jesus with their hearts and trust Him with their lives, KidZ Ministry seeks to explore the depths of Jesus’ love and a relationship with him in our own personal lives. Giving the tools and resources to do so is our greatest passion in teaching.

At Fellowship Church, the Children’s Ministry is split into two groups to help better minister to the students:
Young Fellowship (3 -7 years old)
KidZ Fellowship (8 yr old – 5th grade)

Arrive at the check-in station (located at the front of the KidZ room, by the kitchen in the foyer) to be shown to your room and meet your teachers.

What to expect

We hold your child’s safety, as well as their spiritual development, in the highest regard. These things are done to ensure that your child is receiving good biblical teaching as well as loving guidance from their teacher:

  • Each of our volunteers have a completed annual background check on file, and have gone through our volunteer training seminar.
  • Each child is checked-in by their parent (or guardian) and released only to the person who checked them in. The teachers and volunteers ensure that no one enters the children’s area without the proper check-in credentials
  • We maintain a safe ratio of children to teachers as dictated by our Children and Youth Policy and Procedures.

Fellowship Church Lubbock holds to a strict adherence to the Children and Youth Policy Procedures (view below). This is the ensure the safety and well being of each child at Fellowship Church. If you ever have any concerns, or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Director of KidZ Ministry, Leah Gary, leah@fellowshiplubbock.com. Or, our Associate Pastor, Curtis Thomas, curtis@fellowshiplubbock.com.

Upon Arrival

Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to our 10:00am service. Prior to this time, check-in is closed as there is time allowed for teachers and volunteer to arrive and set up their classroom. There are two check-in stations, one for Babies and Toddlers (west wall of foyer), and one for KidZ ministry (by the kitchen in the foyer).

First-time guests will be asked to fill out a general information card, which includes name, address, phone number, allergies, etc. Upon check-in, parents will receive name tags for each child as well as a check-in tag which will be necessary for picking up your child following the service.

When the service has concluded, parents will present the check-in tag given at check-in before picking up their child. Children will not be released from their room until a parent (or guardian) has presented the appropriate check-in tag.

Questions?

At Fellowship Church Lubbock, we want you and your family to feel safe and secure in our facility, and in our ministry. We are continuously making improvements to our procedures and ministries to ensure a high-quality program, but sometimes that can leave first-time visitors “out of the loop.”

Therefore, please feel free to contact a pastor with any questions you may have. We want to serve you the best we can.
